The Challenge
Background
The Artist Center is an extranet for admins and artists at Artful Home to apply, manage and review artwork for curated art collections. The Artist Center is a digital experience with capabilities to upload photos of artwork, collect product information, manage orders, inventory, payments and communications with Artful Home merchandisers for customer facing operations.
In an effort to reduce high volume communications from Artists regarding user interface and user experience, the Artist Center grew to become a topic in the Major Business Plan Initiatives for Artful Home in 2017. There are currently 5 different user interface interactions representing the Artist Center. Overall, the user interface is not optimized to support fulfillment volumes and continue to contribute to increase product revenue.
UX Goals
- To create efficiencies in upload and review process for information on artwork for catalog and customer facing product pages.
- To collect more accurate and complete information on products to reduce return rates.
- To enhance user interface and create a more user friendly experience for artists and employees by adapting a design system.
- To introduce bulk editing and product cloning features for artist studios needing support to keep up with new order requests.
- To automate communications across different stages of artwork fulfillment between artists, admin employees, and customers.
UX Constraints
- Executive decisions to be made by board of investors based upon value proposition from: Discovery, Analysis, Design, Testing and Implementation
- Competing priorities with maintaining operations for new product campaigns and graphic design production for catalog and marketing emails
- Moved states to persue graduate school and another opporunity at the begining of product implementation
