- How has your career changed over time (roles, industry, etc.)?
My journey into UX began with a foundation in graphic design, evolving into research and visual design roles across marketing and e‑commerce. A pivotal ADA‑compliant initiative formally shifted my focus to digital, where I bridged print catalog art direction with retail web experiences while ensuring alignment with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Accessibility became a defining thread throughout my career—most notably in financial services, where I led omnichannel origination experiences and partnered with the Cleveland Sight Center to conduct accessibility audits, embedding inclusive design practices into enterprise workflows.
- Share somebody or something that influenced you, shaping who you are today.
To those before me who continuously inspire me to embrace my authentic self. To those who dedicate time to have open and sometimes difficult conversations for those unable to be represented at all times. I'm eternally grateful for the privliedges I have today and simply continue to advocate for more compassion.
- What is your favorite place, real or imaginary, and why?
Glenorchy, New Zealand, where The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit trilogy, Taylor Swift - Out of the Woods music video was filmed and other movies/tv to list!
- What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I co‑create as half of @MidwestHusbands, serving as designer and developer for midwesthusbands.com. What began as a way to document our family journey has evolved into a platform centered on positivity—sharing DIY woodworking projects, travel experiences, and cooking recipes. These days, our greatest priority is our son, Bruno. When time allows we’re exploring product design that blends woodworking, 3D printing, and other materials. This journey has led me to dive deeper into CAD software, experiment with splicing for printing, and negotiate with my husband on which tools to invest in—all while learning to balance creativity, and the joys of new parenthood.
- Answer ONE of these two questions:
"If I could take only 3 items or people with me to a deserted island, they would be..."
Forgive me in advance for confessing I've watched 9 seasons of "Naked and Afraid." I'd bring a pot, firestarter and a previous survivorist that may have insight to the climate of the deserted island!
